For the live listening session, Vashish Soobah presents a musical playlist that, paired with a projection of video images from his archive, explores sound’s ability to generate transnational imaginaries and its power to “perceptually” project one’s body elsewhere. The tracks range from a selection of ambient music to pieces that are part of a long journey the artist is undertaking to discover the various African diasporas, and in particular the Mauritian one.

Following Vashish Soobah’s live listening session, the evening at La Claque (Teatro della Tosse) on Friday, June 5th continues with LOWKOLOS, LUZAI, and HHY & THE KAMPALA UNIT, with intersticial DJ sets by randomplay and SocksLove.
