Resonances

The 2024 edition of Electropark, themed "Resonances", placed sound at the core as a means of connection between artistic languages and communities. In June and July, the festival turned Genoa and the Tigullio area into a collective resonance field, activating urban and maritime spaces through electronic music, theatre, dance, and visual arts.

The unifying theme of Resonances is collective practices: artistic actions that “resonate” across the different fields explored by the festival — electronic music, visual arts, theatre, performance and dance.

Artists

Among the artists in this edition’s lineup are ¥ØU$UK€ ¥UK1MAT$U, Lyric Dela Cruz, Juliana Huxtable, Jasss, Deena Abdelwahed, Toy Tonics, El Kontessa, McKenzie Wark, Courtesy, Francesca Heart, Andrea Normanno and Lowtopic.

Places

Between June and July, the festival brought electronic music, DJ sets and performances to venues across Genoa and the Tigullio region, including Galata Museo del Mare, Mercato dei Pescatori della Darsena, Teatro della Tosse, Virgo Club, Palazzo Ducale and Groove Island in San Michele di Pagana, on the Gulf of Tigullio.

Groove Island

Following the success of the previous edition, Groove Island returned to the Electropark program in collaboration with Euphoria. Set in the middle of the Gulf of Tigullio, the project transformed the sea into a temporary dancefloor: a floating platform surrounded by small boats, with the horizon, the sun and the water forming a unique natural backdrop for seven hours of DJ sets leading up to sunset.

Designed to engage a younger audience, the concept draws inspiration from the Netflix film The Incredible Story of the Isle of Roses. The event featured artists from the Toy Tonics roster and has quickly become one of the most distinctive moments of the festival.

Evergreen Podcast

Evergreen podcast started in 2022 to explore intersectional and ecological activism in Genoa. Through different contexts and environments — including Electropark, a Global Strike for Future, and local spaces of social and political gathering for feminist and LGBTQIA+ communities. Evergreen was created and hosted by Claudia Calabresi. The podcast aired on Cashmere Radio, a not-for-profit experimental community radio station based in Wedding.
