Quitting - Cultural rave

Quitting, the group founded by the cultural economist and partner at Studio Lombard DCA in Milan Franco Broccardi, journalist and professor Marco Enrico Giacomelli, and journalist and art historian Arianna Testino, presents Eccentrica, the second chapter of the itinerant, themed cultural rave that brings together diverse voices and perspectives on the urgent issues of our time.

Organised in collaboration with Electropark, Eccentrica adopts a lateral and generative perspective to explore the potential of being on the outside, shaping an open debate that involves figures from diverse and complementary fields, without hierarchies. The only essential requirement is curiosity. And participation. Because Quitting’s audience is always a fundamental player.

Following its debut at the end of 2025 at the Casa degli Artisti in Milan, where the cultural rave found its focal point in the phenomenon that gives the group its name, Quitting arrives in Genoa with the aim of adding a new piece to a discourse that transcends disciplinary boundaries and looks the present squarely in the eye. Once again, the cultural rave will be documented in a printed almanac published by AES Arts+Economics, the magazine produced by Studio Lombard DCA in Milan, which shares with Quitting a cross-disciplinary approach to the themes addressed.

Giorgia Brusemini 

Designer e Ambasciatrice Italiana Women in Lighting

Giorgia Brusemini is a product designer specializing in lighting design and an expert in strategic communication. From her studio in Milan, she handles lighting design for the residential sector and supports lighting brands in developing their identity and communication. With the goal of promoting light culture and raising public awareness about the importance of proper lighting, she founded the blog www.ognicasailluminata.com in 2017.

She is actively engaged in independent research and experimental design that links public lighting with gender-sensitive urban planning to make cities safe and accessible at night. Since 2021, she has been involved in projects aimed at regenerating the nocturnal image of urban landscapes and in multidisciplinary working groups focused on the future of cities (Genoa, Milan). Her studio supports the activities of the Equal Opportunities Commission of the Metropolitan City of Milan (Progetto Claudia 2.0) and collaborates with the Innovative Public Space Development Office, as well as joining associations that combat violence against women (DonnexStrada) during night patrols. An author for several trade magazines in the field of design and light, she is frequently invited as a speaker at conventions and conferences organized by public institutions, private entities, and universities, both in Italy and abroad.

Margherita Chinnici

Co-founder of the social enterprise FuoriCentro and a graduate in Publishing, Margherita Chinnici is primarily involved in cultural and social projects in the city of Palermo, with a particular inclination toward writing and the world of books.

Lino Guanciale

Lino Guanciale is one of the most acclaimed Italian actors of his generation. Graduating in 2003 from the "Silvio D’Amico" National Academy of Dramatic Arts in Rome, where he received the Vittorio Gassman Prize for best student, he has built a career that seamlessly intertwines theater, television, cinema, and civic engagement. Since 2024, he has been an associate artist of the Piccolo Teatro di Milano. Winner of the 2018 Ubu Prize, the 2015 and 2025 Flaiano Prizes, and the 2025 Le Maschere del Teatro Italiano Prize, he is also an UNHCR Goodwill Ambassador and has participated in field missions in Lebanon and Ethiopia. This commitment is not a mere communication stance but a foundational part of his artistic and civic identity, directly reflected in the inclusive vocation of this initiative.

Alessandro Nagar

Alessandro Nagar, Senior Researcher at INFN (National Institute for Nuclear Physics), Turin Division. Member of the Virgo collaboration. He is a prominent figure in relativistic astrophysics, specializing in the theoretical modeling of gravitational wave signals emitted by the coalescence (i.e., merging) of relativistic astrophysical objects such as neutron stars and black holes.

Irene Parisi

Irene Parisi is the co-founder of Fuoricentro. A graduate in Biotechnology and a student of Neuroscience, she works at the Cre.Zi Plus Community Hub. She has also channeled her commitment into cultural planning, focusing on the development and enhancement of inland areas.

Mona Lisa Tina

Artist, performer, and art therapist

Mona Lisa Tina lives and works in Bologna. Born in Francavilla Fontana (BR) in 1977, she graduated in Painting from the Academy of Fine Arts of Bologna in 2005 and specialized in Art Therapy at Art Therapy Italiana in 2012. She is the educational coordinator for the Three-Year Course in Art Therapy at Le Nuove Arti Terapie – Visual and Performing Arts branch – held in Bologna and Rome, directed by Oliviero Rossi.

Her own biography serves as the starting point for each performance project, yet the ultimate thread is woven from the biographies of the people involved—from the openness of those who generously participate in the action, offering back powerful and touching emotions. Favoring the Body, understood as both a psychic and physical entity, and Performance, as an aesthetic modality of relationship among all expressive mediums, her recent artistic research focuses on exploring the intersections between identity, human emotional tensions, and social contexts. She conducts seminars and workshops on the core aspects of her artistic inquiry, and has curated and contributed to numerous publications focusing on the expressive language of Performance and the centrality of the body.

Franco Broccardi, Marco Enrico Giacomelli, Arianna Testino

Franco Broccardi

Franco Broccardi is a Certified Public Accountant and founding partner of Studio Lombard DCA in Milan. Specializing in cultural economics, the third sector, and the art market, he provides consulting and auditing services for museums, theaters, foundations, galleries, and festivals. He is an adjunct professor of Cultural Heritage Economics at the University of Bergamo and has taught in numerous master’s and advanced training programs. He is the founder and curator of the magazine ÆS – Arts+Economics and president and co-founder of the Osservatorio Arte Contemporanea (Contemporary Art Observatory). He serves on the boards of directors and boards of statutory auditors for numerous cultural institutions, including OrienteOccidente, Fondazione Mondadori, Fondazione Umberto Eco, and Federculture. He writes regularly for Il Giornale dell’Arte, Artribune, and Il Sole 24 Ore. He has published two books: Cultura Adesso. Un’economia contemporanea (Nomos, 2025) and Economia del Silenzio (Mimesis, 2026). He is the co-founder of the cultural hybridization project Quitting and the economic-cultural insight forum Common Ground.

Marco Enrico Giacomelli

Holding a PhD in Aesthetics and working as a professional journalist, Marco Enrico Giacomelli (Turin, 1976) studied philosophy at the universities of Turin, Bologna, and Paris 8. From the beginning of the 21st century until early 2023, he served as editor-in-chief and deputy editorial director, first for Exibart.onpaper and later for Artribune Magazine. He teaches at NABA in Milan, IED in Turin, and the Academy of Fine Arts of Verona, and has previously taught at the Albertina Academy of Fine Arts in Turin. He has written dozens of journalistic and academic articles, as well as a book on Documenta 13 (Ma dove sono le opere d’arte?, Castelvecchi, 2023), one on Mike Kelley (Di tutto un pop, Johan and Levi, 2014), and one on René Daumal (Un filosofo tra Patafisica e Surrealismo, Bulzoni, 2011). He has translated texts by Gilles Deleuze, Marc Augé, Nicolas Bourriaud, and Boris Groys, and published a critical edition of the diary written by Achille Compagnoni on the occasion of the first ascent of K2 (Marsilio, 2014, accompanied by an exhibition at the Museum of Science and Technology in Milan). The most recent art exhibitions he has curated include: Don Yuan by Gianni Colosimo and Luisa Bruni (Riccardo Costantini Contemporary, Turin 2023); L’elefante nella stanza by Carlo Galfione (Il Fondaco, Bra 2024); and A passo lento by Cristina Saimandi (Palazzo Comunale and Cappella Marchionale, Revello 2025). He directs the Instagram magazine Art Cluster Zine and is the co-founder of the communication agency Art Cluster. Together with Olga Gambari, he curates the annual event Metal Soundz, and founded the project Quitting alongside Franco Broccardi and Arianna Testino. He curates the aesthetics page for Il Giornale dell’Arte and collaborates with the magazines Antinomie, Grafica Magazine, and Machina.

Arianna Testino

Arianna Testino trained between Bologna and Venice, graduating from DAMS with a degree in Medieval and Modern Art History and specializing in contemporary art at IUAV. A freelance journalist, she was the managing editor for Artribune, where she worked for nearly a decade. She teaches web writing and works as an editorial consultant. Currently, she edits the content for C’è vita su MArte, the digital magazine of Marsilio Arte, and coordinates the publications of C plus C, an online magazine created within the School for Curatorial Studies Venice. She writes for both the digital and print editions of Il Giornale dell’Arte and Art e Dossier, as well as for various trade publications. In 2012, she published the essay Michelangelo Pistoletto. L’unione di vita, parole e opera (Damocle Edizioni); in 2016, Un regard sur l’art contemporain italien du XXIe siècle (with Marco Enrico Giacomelli) in the journal Ligeia, dossiers sur l’Art; in 2023, the essay Gli artisti che smettono (Castelvecchi Editore); and Empatizzare con i luoghi. Iosif Brodskij, J.M.W. Turner, John Ruskin e Venezia (Balthazar, V. 6 N. 1). She is a co-founder of the Quitting project alongside Franco Broccardi and Marco Enrico Giacomelli.
