De Schuurman

De Schuurman is a Dutch artist and producer who has helped bring bubbling — a genre rooted in Dutch-Caribbean communities — back to the center of contemporary club culture.

Bubbling, a fast-paced sound blending chopped dancehall, reggaeton, and raw electronic energy, is reworked by De Schuurman through direct and contemporary productions.

With Bubbling Inside (Nyege Nyege Tapes, 2021), he renewed international attention around the genre, earning a mention in a music selection by The New York Times. His follow-up album, Bubbling Forever (2024), was included among the 25 best albums of the year by Resident Advisor and ranked #21 in Crack Magazine’s annual list. Publications such as Mixmag and The Quietus have also highlighted the impact of his work on the European underground scene.

In 2025, he released As The Dynasty Grows on the Dutch label Top Notch / ATDG, further expanding his sonic direction.

From Dekmantel to Berghain, from Nyege Nyege to Draaimolen (b2b with Chuckie), as well as Dour and Unsound, his high-intensity live sets energize dancefloors worldwide. He has also delivered mixes for Boiler Room, Rinse FM, NTS, and BBC 6 Music (The Ravers Hour with Tom Ravenscroft).
